Consider Central Texas Medical Center

Central Texas Medical Center, named the 2008 San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year, is a 178-bed acute-care general hospital.  The hospital, which originated in 1923 as Hays County Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Memorial Hospital, currently employs over 700 professionals who work with more than 220 active and consulting physicians.  In addition, over 100 community members and interns from Texas State University volunteer their services to the hospital. CTMC is part of the Adventist Health System.  With 36 hospitals located across the United States, the Adventist Health System is the largest not-for-profit Protestant hospital system in the country.

San Marcos offers you convenient access to both Austin and San Antonio without the hustle and bustle of big city living.  The serene rivers, hill country amenities, historic downtown district and splendid vistas bring beauty and tranquility into your daily life.  A large and thriving outlet mall provides a full shopping experience, while the spring fed San Marcos River is an endless source of recreation for your family.  The acclaimed Texas State University is a central part of the cultural and educational growth of our region.

In late 2009, CTMC completed a $35 million expansion and renovation on a 64,000 sq ft Women's Center that includes all private rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a new cardiac inpatient nursing unit with all private rooms. It also includes an on-site, high-risk delivery suite and a customized cesarean section suite.
