Central Texas Medical Center is proud to extend its commitment to the women in our area through several upcoming events in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month--and beyond. Our expanded partnerships with area physicians, agencies and businesses are helping to raise awareness and funds to help diagnose and treat women who lack the means to pay for services. Here's a quick look at how we're harnessing the power of pink to make a difference in the lives of local women.
FREE Mammograms
Each October, CTMC, Community Action and the radiologists of San Marcos Medical Imaging join forces to provide up to 100 free mammograms to area women who qualify. Applicants must meet income guidelines, be uninsured and have not had a mammogram before (or in recent years). To date, more than 320 area women have benefited from the program. Call (512) 392-1161, ext. 322.

Pink Heals 5K & Tour

CTMC teamed up with the San Marcos Professional Firefighters Association for the Pink Heals Tour 2010. The Pink Fire Truck graced our community on Friday, October 15. All proceeds from both events benefit Pink Heals, a locally created nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people who are recovering from cancer treatment.
