Support & Activity Groups
Life After Loss
Grief is a powerful and sometimes overwhelming emotion. The reaction to losing a loved one is as individual as fingerprints. Life After Loss is a group support program of the American Cancer Society. The program is designed to help bereaved people better understand the grief process, their emotions, and how to cope with them. A combination of teaching, discussion, and learning activities are used in Life After Loss groups. Professional counselors experienced in grief work lead the sessions. The sessions are open to those who have experienced the death of a loved one within the last two years, and there is no charge for this service. This support group meets once a quarter and runs for five weeks. For information on the next meeting, call CTMC Hospice at 512.754.0322.
