Tanger Outlet Center recently presented Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) with a check for $4,431.57 to help underwrite the purchase of two new pieces of imaging equipment used in the detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Tanger Outlet Center was a Silver Sponsor of CTMC’s Stars of Texas Gala held this past October and pledged to support the hospital with a donation of $3,500. However, sales of Tanger’s 25% Off Pink Card during the month of October exceeded the goal and with $1 generated from every card sold, Tanger GM Michelle Carswell was able to present CTMC president/CEO Gary Jepson with a check for nearly $1,000 more at the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas Mixer held at CTMC on Dec. 13.
“We are proud to have joined with our retail partners to not only raise funds, but to also create awareness for early detection, mammograms and self examination,” remarked Michelle Carswell. “Our goal is to continue providing hope and encouragement to breast cancer patients and their families in our area and to keep working hard until a prevention and cure can finally be found,” added Carswell.
Thanks to Tanger's support and that of many other Gala sponsors and donors, CTMC recently purchased two new pieces of equipment: a 3D/4D ultrasound system and a breast biopsy coil for its new MRI machine.
