The 5th Annual Hats Off For Hospice fundraiser was held at Texas Old Town in Kyle on March 29. This annual fundraiser hosted by CTMC Hospice Care helps to raise proceeds for Dream A Dream, a wish granting program for hospice patients and families. This year’s event drew approximately 500 people and raised $25,000 with donations still coming.
Children and families enjoyed Fuschak’s BBQ, a live and silent auction, train and hay wagon rides and a moonwalk. Live music was provided by Reckless Kelly.
This year, a 4-night, 5-day vacation to Ruidoso, New Mexico was given away courtesy of Chris and Alene Adams. Mrs. Adams pulled the winning ticket and the lucky winner was Aaron Gilland of San Marcos.
“Hats off to our community and business supporters who went above and beyond to help make our 5th annual Hats Off For Hospice so successful,” says Lisa Adams, PR Coordinator for CTMC Hospice Care. “A week after the event, CTMC Hospice Care fulfilled wishes for patients including a new computer and a new ramp.”
Special recognition was given to the 2009 Golden Spur sponsors including The San Marcos Daily Record, TXI, Cavender’s Boot City, Texas Lehigh, Danny Webber Realty, Texas State University Star, Central Texas Orthopaedic Specialists and National Hospice Medical Equipment.
