CTMC Offers Free Healthy Grilling Class

6/17/2009

Central Texas Medical Center is offering a free community seminar on healthy grilling tips and ideas. The “Thrill of the Grill” class will be held on June 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the CTMC Courtyard, behind the hospital’s Daily Bread Cafe.

The CTMC Dieticians will demonstrate how to create healthy vegetable and chicken kabobs, grilled sweet potato wedges, grilled fruit for dessert, and aguas frescas.

“Cooking healthy is easy once you have the right knowledge,” said Jason Parker, CTMC Executive Chef. “During the summer months, a backyard grill is perfect for quick, easy and healthy meals.”

This community education class is part of CTMC’s Creative Living Series. The series supports the principles and philosophies of the Creation Health Movement. From lifestyle choices to food selections to actively reducing one’s risk for certain diseases, each of us has the choice to live a healthier life.
