The first baby of the New Year made her grand entrance at Central Texas Medical Center’s Women’s Center one hour and 19 minutes after midnight on January 1, 2010.
Hailey Lillianna Hoke became San Marcos' newest resident, weighing in at seven pounds, five ounces and measuring 19 inches long. Proud parents Chris and Marissa Hoke are San Marcos residents and this is the first child for both.
“We just feel incredibly excited and blessed,” said Chris Hoke. “She is such a beautiful baby girl.”
In 2009, CTMC’s Childbirth center delivered more than 950 babies. CTMC’s new state-of-the-art Women’s Center opened its doors on November 30, 2009. The 64,000-square-foot addition includes a new Women’s Center with all private rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a new cardiac inpatient nursing unit also with all private rooms. It also includes an on-site, high-risk delivery suite and a customized cesarean section suite.
The Center features special amenities for mothers and families, including flat screen televisions, free Wi-Fi, nutrition stations, a gift shop, an online photo album of your newborn for friends and family to view, and a Healing Garden for visitors.
CTMC also offers expanded childbirth education and certified breastfeeding support. All programs are offered in both English and Spanish. Classes cover a variety of topics including Childbirth Education for First-time Moms, Childbirth Refresher, Cesarean Sections, Breastfeeding and Lactation Consultation.
