CTMC High School Scholarship Available

1/8/2010

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is pleased to announce an offering of three $1,000 scholarships  as well as two Dell laptops to deserving regional high school seniors.

The scholarships may be used for costs of attending a university, college, community college or vocational/trade school. Proof of enrollment and a tuition statement must be submitted in order to receive the scholarship. The scholarship awards are based on community involvement, work or club experience,  financial need and academic achievement.

“We recognized our community’s need, especially during these tough economic times,” said Gary Jepson, CTMC President/CEO.  “Awarding scholarships is another opportunity for us to extend the healing ministry of Christ beyond health care.”

Application forms are available on-line at www.ctmc.org.  The form is posted under ‘About Us.’  Interested students must send or deliver their completed forms to CTMC, located at 1301 Wonder World Drive in San Marcos.  Applications must be delivered or postmarked on or before Tuesday, April 19, 2010.

CTMC has a long history of supporting its community.  In 1990, CTMC awarded the first high school scholarship of $250 to a single recipient. In 2009, although CTMC had only committed to granting three scholarships, they decided to increase their giving to benefit two additional students, giving more than $4,000. Today, the scholarship amount has been increased with the addition of two recipients receiving a Dell laptop in order to best prepare them for their educational  journey.

If you or a student you know is interested in applying, please visit the website or contact Tabitha Walsh, CTMC Public Relations Coordinator, at 512.753.3676 or tabitha.walsh@ahss.org.
