CTMC Sponsors Wimberley Chamber Discount Program

1/26/2010

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) announced their sponsorship of the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce Member Discount Program at this month’s Chamber Luncheon.

The Discount program is available for all members of the Wimberley Chamber of Commerce and provides member discounts at area businesses. This free program is designed to increase exposure for participating businesses and to encourage members to "shop Chamber members first."  To see who's in the program and what types of discounts are being offered to Chamber members, visit the Chamber's website at www.wimberley.org, click on the Chamber of Commerce tab and then click on the Member Discount Program.

During the luncheon, CTMC presented new health and wellness programs that will be coming to the Wimberley Community. CTMC’s Institute for Healthy Living (IFHL) is offering the LoneStart Wellness initiative. This is a behavior-based program that provides participants with the opportunity, information, motivation and support to achieve their healthy lifestyle goals by overcoming inactivity and making better dietary choices.

CTMC’s Institute for Healthy Living will also spearhead CTMC’s annual HealthCheck Community Health Screening. Wimberley blood draws will be  held on April 6 and 7 from 7:00-10:00 a.m. at the Wimberley Community Center located at 14068 Ranch Road 12. The expanded HealthCheck Fair will be held on April 22.  This year’s event will include an expanded panel of screenings and will take place at a new, offsite venue – Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center. The larger venue will provide easier access for participants, an expanded number of booths and a special slate of breakout sessions featuring talks by physicians and other clinical professionals during which participants will have a chance to ask questions.

The  IFHL offers a wide array of additional programs and classes that focus on disease management, support groups, women’s health, nutrition, healthy living for seniors,  children’s health and many others.
