SAN MARCOS, TX – Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) encourages everyone to give the gift of life and roll up their sleeves for the CTMC Blood Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at CTMC’s Main Classroom.
 
CTMC sponsors blood drives throughout the year in conjunction with The Blood Center of Central Texas. Blood drives are an essential part of providing health care to the community. One person’s donation can save the lives of two other people. In order to maintain a blood supply that will support San Marcos and the surrounding area, 55,000 units of blood must be donated quarterly.

“Blood donations are important for trauma patients and to treat illnesses,” said Lisa Moore, CTMC Blood Bank supervisor. “It takes just a few moments of time to save the life of a loved one or a neighbor by giving blood.”
