CTMC Offers Caregiver Support
SAN MARCOS, TX – “Comprehensive and practical” and “Held my attention throughout”. Those are just a few of the comments shared during a three-part community lecture series offered by Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Heritage Program for Senior Adults.
“Helping Caregivers Go the Distance” is a program that helps caregivers develop a roadmap of their own caregiving journey. Caregivers can learn about structure in the home, legal planning, managing stress, long-term care planning and dealing with loved ones with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
“Caregiving can bring challenges and it can bring rewards,” said Clara Hollis, CTMC Heritage Senior Program Director. “That is why we offer a program designed uniquely for caregivers to provide education and emotional support.”
The next session is slated for Dec. 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the new CTMC Community Classroom. For more information about the lecture series, please call the CTMC Institute for Healthy Living at 512-753-3818 or visit www.ctmc.org.
