SAN MARCOS, TX – Research has shown most parents think they are using child safety seats correctly, but in fact, an estimated three out of four seats are used incorrectly. Learning how to use a child safety seat properly can take just a few moments and save a child’s life.

Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is once again teaming up with Texans in Motion and Scott & White Healthcare Injury Prevention Program to offer a free Child Safety Seat Inspection on Tuesday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the CTMC Women’s Center, located at 1301 Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. A certified technician will conduct the inspections. Children must be present for technicians to conduct a complete inspection.

“We want to make sure the more than 1,000 babies born at the CTMC Women’s Center each year and other children are properly protected,” said Clay DeStefano, CTMC Administrative Director of PR & Marketing. “Parents shouldn’t take a chance on their child’s safety and have their child safety seat inspected.”
