SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
– Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) began offering services at the Wimberley Medical Plaza today. The new medical facilities are located at 201 FM 3237 (on the corner of Old Kyle Road and FM 3237) in Wimberley.
Live Oak Health Partners (LOHP), CTMC’s primary and specialty care physicians group, anchors the buildings along with CTMC Lab and X-Ray Express, which provides routine blood draws, urine samples and cultures as well as digital x-rays that can be viewed by physicians from remote locations. Services at the CTMC Lab and X-ray Express Wimberley location are fast, friendly and hassle-free, requiring a minimal registration process and no up-front payment.
Additionally, Dr. Eric Price, a primary care physician with LOHP, relocated his existing Wimberley-based practice to the Wimberley Medical Plaza, and several additional LOHP and CTMC specialists will rotate through additional offices in the Plaza to bring more specialty care directly to the community. LOHP subspecialists will provide orthopedic and general surgery consultations on certain days, and cardiology appointments will be available through Austin Heart.
“We are very excited about the new medical center,” Price said. “The major benefit to the wonderful people of Wimberley is that it will encourage specialists in various fields to establish a regular local presence. This will mean better local access so people won’t have to travel as much to get their medical care.”

In addition, over 200 community members and interns from area educational institutions volunteer their services to the hospital. CTMC also added a certified Chest Pain Center to its ER capabilities in 2011 and became an accredited Primary Stroke Center in 2013.
