CTMC Celebrates 1000th Baby Born At New Women's Center
SAN MARCOS, TX – Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is thrilled to announce the arrival of the 1000th baby born at the new Women’s Center. Proud parents, Mohamad and Eman Alshall, welcomed Solomon to their family on Friday, Nov.5 at 11:20 a.m. Solomon has two older sisters, Leiana and Lojein. The healthy baby boy was delivered by CTMC Obstetrician Ray Jacobson, M.D.
One year ago this month, CTMC completed a $35 million dollar expansion and renovation project that included a new 64,000 sq ft Women’s Center. CTMC is celebrating its first year of success at the new Women’s Center and first year of life for the bundles of joy born at the center with “Cupcakes and Cuties,” Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Women’s Center.
“We are so happy for the Alshall family as they celebrate the arrival of the newest member of their family,” said Margie Lieck, Director of Women’s Services. “It is exciting to see so many women chose the Women’s Center to assist them with the birth of their child.”
This special occasion is also a milestone for Dr. Jacobson who is retiring in December. He has been with CTMC since the early 1980’s and has delivered thousands of babies.
The CTMC Women’s Center has all private rooms, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and an on-site, high-risk delivery suite and customized cesarean section suite. The Women’s Center offers a number of educational programs in preparation of baby’s arrival and beyond. Classes include childbirth education, Fit for Delivery exercise program, Aqua Fit for Moms class and certified breast feeding consultation.
