Central Texas Medical Center is enhancing its commitment to the patient experience through the addition of a hospital-wide Patient Advocate. The Patient Advocate is a vital instrument in helping to ensure patient understanding of procedures and providing support for both patients and families.
“We are pleased to announce the addition of a new patient advocate, Omar Baca,” said Krystal Gomez, CTMC Performance Improvement Manager. “Omar brings a new enthusiasm and a unique perspective to the position.”
“I spent nearly a decade in the fire service where I discovered a deep personal satisfaction from helping others,” said Omar Baca. “I understand that every person is unique. I believe that along with state-of-the-art medicine we must provide good old fashioned personal attention. In my field experience I found that being bilingual (English/Spanish) helped open communication with a major portion of our community that otherwise can feel lost or neglected when in need of medical attention.”
