CTMC Focuses on Cardiac Care During The Scooter Store Company Health Fair
SAN MARCOS, TX – The number one leading cause of death in the nation is cardiovascular disease. As part of an expanding commitment to cardiac services, Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) participated in an employee health fair earlier this month at The Scooter Store in New Braunfels.
A team of CTMC associates provided free blood pressure screenings and offered education on how to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and control hypertension. CTMC associates assisted more than 300 employees during the five hour health fair.
”We are all busy with our jobs and lives outside of work. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to provide this free service to the employees,” said Mario Torres, RN, BSN, CTMC Patient Educator. “It is extremely important for everyone to have their blood pressure checked regularly and understand his or her risk of a heart attack.”
CTMC is in the final stage of having a Certified Chest Pain Center. For more information on cardiac care, please visit www.ctmc.org.
