CTMC Helping Kids Get Healthier With "Way 2 Go Kids"
SAN MARCOS, TX – Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be a chore for kids. That’s why Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) offers “Way 2 Go Kids”, a fun and educational, nutrition and physical activity program. The 8-week spring series is held each Tuesday beginning March 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the CTMC Community Classroom.
“Way 2 Go Kids”, led by a group of medical professionals, consists of one hour of nutrition lessons including healthy snacks and fun games, plus another hour of exciting physical activities. The classes are led by CTMC registered dieticians and Michelle Miller, MD, pediatrician with Corridor Primary Care, serves as the program’s Medical Director.
“Way 2 Go Kids offers children a fun environment to learn about exercise and eating right,” said Clay DeStefano, Administrative Director of PR/Marketing. “If children learn how to live a healthy lifestyle at an early age, they can maintain this lifestyle as adults and they often have a positive influence on their parents and siblings.”
The cost for the 8-week series is $25. To register, please call the CTMC Institute for Healthy Living at 512-753-3818 or register online at www.ctmc.org and click on “Way 2 Go Kids” under the Education and Events tab.
