CTMC Offers Weight Watchers Program
SAN MARCOS, TX – In less than 17 weeks, more than 175 pounds was lost by 25 individuals thanks to Central Texas Medical Center’s (CTMC) Institute for Healthy Living and Weight Watchers. The Institute for Healthy Living is making this weight-loss opportunity available once again with a new 14-week series starting Tuesday, Nov. 16. The group meets each Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Community Classroom located in CTMC’s Professional Office Building. An open house will be held for anyone wanting to know more about the series on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Classroom.
“The Weight Watchers program has been a tremendous success in our community and we are thrilled to offer this series,” said Jessica Mease, Institute for Healthy Living Operations Coordinator. “Weight Watchers can teach people how to live a healthier lifestyle with the help of a supportive and caring environment.”
Weight Watchers meetings begin with private weigh-ins that help participants stay on track with their weight loss goal. Each week, leaders discuss a specific topic such as stress-eating or family meal ideas. Members are encouraged to share strategies that have worked for them.
From the Diabetes Support Group, to the Aquatics Programs and Way 2 Go Kids, the Institute for Healthy Living offers several community education courses to help people live a healthier lifestyle.
