Central Texas Medical Center: News

CTMC's patient satisfaction scores continue to rise
SAN MARCOS, TX – For the month of March 2013, all of the Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) patient experience objectives fell in the 75th percentile, marking a monumental achievement for the hospital. The data was collected from HCAHPS patient experience surveys that measure satisfaction for various objectives related to their stay in the hospital. Almost every category saw improvement from the scores during the same period last year.

“This is proof that your efforts in this area are truly making a difference in how our patients perceive our care,” said CTMC CEO/ President Sam Huenergardt in an e-mail to all staff. “What a great testament to your efforts and hard work! Thank you for your commitment, this is helping us achieve the mission Christ has charged us to fulfill.”

The indicators that are measured in the HCAHPS surveys patient experience include doctor communication, nurse communication, communication about medicine, staff responsiveness, discharge information, pain management, cleanliness, quietness, overall satisfaction and willingness to recommend.
