Hearing Center at LOHP to provide opportunities for free hearing consultations in San Marcos and Wimberley
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
– Jasmine Burrington, a clinical doctor of audiology at the Hearing Center at Live Oak Health Partners will provide two opportunities for free hearing consultations this month.
The first will take place on Wednesday, October 29 at Wimberley Medical Plaza, located at 201 Ranch Road 3237 in Wimberley. Another hearing consultation will take place on Thursday, October 30 at 1340 Wonder World Drive, Suite 4301, in San Marcos. Both events will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and each consultation lasts 45 minutes. Participants must call (512) 353-6400 ahead of time to schedule an appointment and are encouraged to bring a family member or significant other with them.
“Hearing loss is the third most prevalent chronic health condition for older adults,” Burrington said. “Hearing loss affects not only the individual with the hearing loss, but also every family member and friend around that individual.”
Burrington says people who answer yes to the following questions should consider attending one of the events for a free hearing consultation.
• Do people seem to mumble or speak in a softer voice than they used to?
• Do you sometimes miss key words in a sentence or frequently ask people to repeat themselves?
• When you are in a group or crowded restaurant, is it difficult for you to follow the conversation?
• Do you need to turn up the volume on your TV or radio louder than your family likes?
• Has someone close to you mentioned that you might have a problem with your hearing?
