– This week Live Oak Health Partners (LOHP) announced the opening of its newest service line, Live Oak Women’s Care.
“Live Oak Women’s Care provides a new healthcare option for women of all ages,” said LOHP Physician Practice Administrator Lenore DePagter, DO, MBA. “With the rapid population increase in Hays County, there is a need for more specialty physicians. We feel it’s important to focus Live Oak’s next major area of growth on women’s health.”
With the launch of the service line, LOHP welcomes two new Obstetrician/Gynecologists: Nancy E. Bass, MD, FACOG, and Risa J. Curtis, DO.
Dr. Bass is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts. She graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training in Ohio at Summa Health System/Akron City Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Health Center. Prior to joining Live Oak Health Partners, she was in private practice specializing in gynecology, menopause, hormones, lifestyle, stress, weight maintenance and exercise. Bass has held teaching appointments at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and the University of Toledo Medical Center. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, sailing, yoga and traveling.
Dr. Curtis was born and raised in Austin. She graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Michigan, and is a certified da Vinci robotic surgeon. She enjoys outdoor activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, art projects and trying new foods.
Since 2012, LOHP has steadily grown to 30 medical providers with 11 locations in San Marcos, Wimberley, Kyle and Lockhart.
