Calendar Art Contest Categories and Ideas
The CREATION Health principles are designed to help reach whole-person health mentally, physically, spiritually and socially. Each letter in the word CREATION describes one of the eight principles that helps you live life to the fullest. All entries must relate to one of the words within our acronym CREATION. Choose and illustrate one of the eight CREATION Health principles: Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook or Nutrition. Each entry should represent what that word means to the contestant.
Choice is the first step toward a healthy life. Good choices may include playing outside with your friends, reading a book, choosing a healthy snack, spending time with your family and having a positive attitude.
Rest is both a good night’s sleep and taking time to relax during the day from homework, sports, chores and video games. We all deserve time to be free from these daily events. Remember to take a break away from your everyday activities.
Environment is all around us and affects what happens inside of us. Everything that affects our senses--sight, smell, sound, touch and taste--influences us for the better or worse.
Activity includes not only physical activity but exercising our brains as well. The best kind of physical activity, like a walk in a park with friends, also enhances the mind, spirit and friendships.
Our faith, beliefs and hopes affect our health. Trusting in your higher power is important to living a healthy life. When things are good or bad, your faith will always guide you. Hope keeps you motivated and inspires you to reach for your dreams.
Interpersonal relationships are important to your health and happiness. These relationships include family, friends and neighbors. Choosing a good group of friends can help you stay positive and healthy.
Outlook is a gift you give to yourself. A positive attitude shapes how you view the world and the people in it. It’s the way you behave, the way you treat others and the way you treat yourself.
Nutrition is the fuel that drives your whole body. Choosing to eat a healthy snack instead of junk food can help your body grow strong.
Kids Art Calendar Artist Reception
All winning contestants and their families will be invited to the CREATION Health Artist Reception to be held in the fall at Central Texas Medical Center. Parents of the winners will be notified by phone and/or email indicating their art is featured in the calendar. Placements will be announced at the reception in November.
Are you part of a childcare facility, a camp coordinator, church group, school, community organization or just love art?

If you're interested in going the extra mile, we can provide Art Contest posters and enough contest entry forms for each child. Arrangements can also be made for large quantity entry pickups at your location.
