Amanda Ivy, M.D.

Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Amanda Ivy is an Orthopedic Surgeon at the Live Oak Health Partners Specialty Care clinic in San Marcos, Texas. Dr. Ivy treats patients of all ages, and has expertise with sports medicine, knee ligament reconstruction, arthroscopy, fracture care and general orthopedics. She is a proud graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and received her Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She then completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of South Alabama. Her orthopedic sports medicine fellowship was completed at Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana under renowned surgeon Dr. Arthur C. Rettig. While there, she provided care for the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana State Sycamores and various high school teams. She is currently working with several area high schools in the management of their athletes.

Christopher L. Jimenez, M.D.

Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Christopher L. Jimenez specializes in total joint replacements of the hip and knee and hip preservation surgery, including the Bernese periacetabular Osteotomy for treatment of hip dysplasia. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Jimenez completed a surgical internship at Rush in Chicago, IL., before an orthopedic residency training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. His residency training offered him the opportunity to learn from distinguished faculty where he learned different techniques for hip preservation and joint replacement surgeries. 

A San Antonio native, Dr. Jimenez completed a prestigious fellowship with Dr. Joel Matta and Dr. Edward McPherson in Santa Monica, CA. There, he learned advanced techniques for anterior approach total hip replacement, total knee replacement and revision surgeries. He also had extensive training in management of acetabular and pelvic trauma and hip preservation surgery during his fellowship.

James Baker, M.D

Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon

James Baker, MD specializes in disorders of the musculoskeletal system. In private practice for over twenty years, he has experience and expertise in treatment of shoulder, hand and wrist problems, knee disorders, and fracture surgery. He has performed hundreds of total knee and hip replacements, and also sees patients for foot and ankle disorders. Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Baker graduated seventh in his class from Sayre School. He then served in the U.S. Army in Germany for three years and received his medical degree from Tulane School of Medicine, was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor in Houston. He then traveled to San Antonio and subsequently to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi serving four years in the Air Force to pay back a military scholarship to medical school before beginning his practice in Louisiana. In 2005, after hurricane Katrina destroyed his office building and hospital in Louisiana, he moved to San Marcos, Texas.

Joshua Crum, M.D.

Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

 Dr. Joshua Crum specializes in arthroscopy and the treatment of all sports-related injuries. He has particular interest in the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, elbow, and knee disorders. He provides state-of-the art care for a wide variety of sports injuries, whether resulting from an acute trauma or overuse. In addition, he cares for general orthopedic conditions including fracture care and performs knee and shoulder replacement. A 1998 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Dr. Crum graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Following medical school, he did his Orthopedic residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. After his residency he spent an additional year in fellowship training with the renowned Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama, where he focused on the treatment of athletic injuries. During his fellowship, he cared for athletes of all levels, and learned the most advanced methods and techniques to return athletes to their sport. He began practice in Texas in 2008.
