CTMC Hosting Life Saving Child Safety Seat Inspection
SAN MARCOS, TX – Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 3 to 14 years old. According to the Passenger Safety Project with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, most parents think they are using child safety seats correctly but studies show an estimated three out of four seats are used incorrectly.
Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is committed to the safety and health of children. That is why CTMC is teaming up with Texans in Motion and Scott & White Healthcare Injury Prevention Program to offer a free Child Safety Seat Inspection on Tuesday, June 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the CTMC Women’s Center, located at 1301 Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. A certified technician will conduct the inspections. Children must be present for technicians to conduct a complete inspection.
“We have the privilege of welcoming more than 1,000 babies into the world each year,” said Clay DeStefano, CTMC Administrative Director of PR & Marketing. “Making sure these and other children are properly protected is one more way we demonstrate our commitment to the health and well being of those we serve.”
The inspections are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please call 512-753-3735. Please clear items from vehicles to allow our certified technicians access to the child safety seats.
