SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
– Staying connected with Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is easier than ever before with the new, free mobile application, CTMC Connect. This app, which is replacing the hospital’s former MyCTMC application, offers more functionality than the previous version by allowing users to access ER wait times, learn about services and treatments, find hospital directions, pay their bill, and securely save health records and insurance information. The app also gives users the ability to send patients e-cards, request prayer from chaplains, and search physicians by name or specialty.
“CTMC is committed to optimizing the patient experience and using the latest technology to provide the community with helpful information about the hospital,” said CTMC Administrative Director of PR/Marketing Clay DeStefano “CTMC Connect is another tool that helps us to engage and empower our patients in a way that is most convenient for them.”
CTMC is now available for iPhone and Android users. To download, please visit the iTunes App Store or Android Market on your mobile device and search for CTMC Connect.
The hospital, which originated in 1923 as Hays County Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Memorial Hospital, was restructured in 1960. The present facility was opened at its current Wonder World Drive location in 1983. The CTMC staff of more than 700 employees works with more than 220 active and consulting physicians to provide quality services to patients and their families.
In addition, over 200 community members and interns from area educational institutions volunteer their services to the hospital. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, CTMC was named The Best Hospital in Hays County. CTMC also added a certified Chest Pain Center to its ER capabilities in 2011 and became an accredited Primary Stroke Center in 2013. In 2012, CTMC became the first operating room along the IH-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio to be equipped with a da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery suite.
