CTMC to host FREE car seat inspection Oct. 14
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS – Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) will host a free car seat safety inspection on Tuesday, October 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The service is free, but participants should call (512) 336-3423 ahead of time to schedule an appointment. ###
During the 30-minute inspections, technicians check existing car seats for manufacturer recalls. They also ensure that the seat is installed correctly. If it isn’t, the person is taught how to reinstall the car seat the right way. Every car seat is also evaluated to determine if it is appropriate for the age, height and weight of the child. A limited number of child safety seats are available to families in need.
The outreach is sponsored by Texans in Motion and Scott & White Healthcare’s Injury Prevention Program. For more information, call (512) 336-3423 (Se Habla Español).
