CTMC To Sponsor Annual Thanksgiving Service
SAN MARCOS, TX – Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is pleased to announce its annual San Marcos Community Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 6:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The community is invited to share in thanksgiving and praise. Jason Bollingen of Riverstone Church will be the guest speaker. Music will be performed by a children’s choir with children from several local churches. A special offering will be collected to assist those in our area who are financially disadvantaged.
“Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for our blessings, but also a time to care for those who are not as blessed,” said Merlin Starr, CTMC Chaplain. “Every year we look forward to the Thanksgiving Service as a great opportunity to extend the healing ministry of Christ throughout our community.”
Beginning in the early 1980s, this interdenominational service has been arranged by the San Marcos Ministerial Association. Since 1990, CTMC has co-sponsored the event.
This year, the service will again feature an offering that will be entrusted to the local Salvation Army to meet various needs of families and individuals in the community. The Ministerial Association has chosen the Salvation Army to manage these funds because of its experience in efficiently and effectively providing assistance to those in need.
First United Methodist Church is located at 129 Hutchison Street in San Marcos. For more information about the service or CTMC’s mission outreach efforts, please call (512) 753-3653 or visit our website, www.ctmc.org.
