Grand opening and ribbon cutting event planned for Wimberley Medical Plaza on August 14
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
– A grand opening and Chamber ribbon cutting event will be held at the new Wimberley Medical Plaza on Thursday, August 14.
In addition to light, healthy refreshments, the event will feature informal tours and an acoustic set from Wimberley native Travis Wheeler. There will be brief remarks from Property Developer Robert McDonald, as well as officials from Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) and Live Oak Health Partners (LOHP), the plaza’s anchoring tenants.
The grand opening will also kick off the first of ongoing quarterly art shows, where rotating works from area artists will be on display in the building. In addition, Wimberley Medical Plaza is a “Bootiful Wimberley” site, where a large, decorated boot will be on display outside the facility.
Wimberley Medical Plaza is located at 201 FM 3237 (on the corner of Old Kyle Road and FM 3237) in Wimberley. The community is encouraged to attend the grand opening event to catch a glimpse into how more health care options are expanding to the Wimberley Valley area.
The new center was designed with the intention of preserving as much of the natural environment as possible. The stone and wood exterior compliment the hill country landscape, the large trees were protected and an environmentally friendly water reclamation system is incorporated into the sign.
LOHP, CTMC’s primary and specialty care physicians group, anchors the buildings along with CTMC Lab and X-Ray Express, which provides routine blood draws, urine samples and cultures as well as digital x-rays that can be viewed by physicians from remote locations.
“We are very excited about the new medical center,” said Dr. Erik Price, a Live Oak physician who relocated his existing Wimberley-based practice to Wimberley Medical Plaza. “The major benefit to the wonderful people of Wimberley is that it will encourage specialists in various fields to establish a regular local presence. This will mean better local access so people won’t have to travel as much to get their medical care.”
