Choice is the first step toward improving your well-being. This applies to choices you make for meals as well as decisions about careers and spending money. Before we can achieve positive changes in any area of our lives, we must choose to do so. Informed and conscious decision making is key to experiencing the positive impact of good choices.
When you choose, try to evaluate various courses of action before selecting. What will the immediate gain be? What might the long-term effects be? Think of how many choices you make in one day. Even the decision to do nothing is still a choice.
Be certain that your decisions remain consistent with your will, your beliefs, and your goals. The gift of choice comes with responsibility. Exercise wisdom in your choices because they will
ultimately determine the course of your life.
Rest refreshes, rejuvenates, regenerates and
rebuilds the mind, body and soul. Rest empowers you to function at your best. Making time for rest includes a good night’s sleep, time to relax and rejuvenate throughout the day, and planning larger breaks throughout each month and year.
The stress and pressures of life can accumulate over time and can create a general “dis-ease” with life. Proper rest is a powerful antidote for this common problem.
The day is filled with many important and seemingly urgent responsibilities, so rest is easily dropped to the bottom of the list. Remember how much more effectively and efficiently your mind, body and soul will function when you give yourself the right kind of rest.
