Why exercise is essential for women's health

As women get older, their metabolism begins to decline and their bodies begin developing more fat mass and less lean muscle mass.
However, there is good news. If you start exercising, you can increase lean mass and boost your metabolism to burn more calories. Exercise can be aerobic (such as walking) or anaerobic (such as lifting weights).
If you don't maintain a regular exercise routine, you will have to eat fewer calories as you age to maintain your weight.
Exercise is also important for bone health. Resistance training encourages strengthening the bones, which protects against osteoperosis. Try doing lunges, jumping jacks or using 2-to-5-pound hand weights.
