CTMC’s breast center was designed with women in mind

When a woman comes in to get a mammogram, she may feel anxious or intimidated. As the patient navigator at the Women’s Center for Breast Health at Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC), I get to help make the process as easy as possible.
At CTMC, we understand that life can get hectic and scheduling a mammogram may not be a top priority. We offer extended hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for your convenience. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, we have appointments available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We designed our breast center with women in mind. It combines diagnostic imaging, support, surgical services and reconstruction in one convenient location. When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, comfortable environment with refreshments and a soft, warm robe to change into. Our mammogram techs communicate each step of the process to make the experience as comfortable as they can.
If the mammogram is clear, we won’t see the patient again for another year. If the radiologist finds something suspicious, we’re here to help guide patients and their families through any steps that may follow.
Call (512) 753-3733 to schedule your mammogram, and visit ctmc.org to learn how you can get involved in our October Breast Cancer Awareness activities.
